PROJECT
Product Design

Radhika and Bharath, two senior techies and IISc Alumni, backed by professional experience working with global hardware companies like Qualcomm and Texas Instruments decided to apply their engineering knowledge to a new situation they found themselves in; a newborn who refused to sleep.

They studied the whole theory of sleep with paediatricians and came up quickly with a prototype that worked extremely well. They reached out to us for design advice. Together, we took up a complete rethink of architecture, modularity, shape and styling. Over almost a year and half, various partial and full prototypes were designed and tested for different factors that determine the final design. The team finally came up with a unique structure and form that is highly functional, lightweight and compact.

Some unique features of the cradle involve continuous intelligent monitoring of the baby for a responsive behaviour of the cradle using advanced camera technology, completely washable and naturally fitting sling with quilting, ease of weight management around the hammock while holding the baby and last but not the least – a tech enabled sound and light show for the baby!

Breathable bedding so that the baby can breathe even if it rolls over – designed as per international air permeability standards
6
Cloth hammock distributes pressure away from soft areas – helps in giving a good head shape for the baby
7
Low noise zipper that will not disturb your sleeping baby
8
Baby safe cotton fabric

Machine washable

A very intuitive interaction was a must for the app that manages the smart cradle. Our Web and App team did a deep dive to understand the expected behaviour of the cradle as well as the consumers. The outcome is a highly simplified user behaviour around a beautifully rendered app.
